50. Hidden Panzer Dragoon Saga book discovered!
Date: 28th of February, 2003
Updated By: Solo

Solo Another book has been found in Panzer Dragoon Saga... and I thought that I had read them all! The book, which goes by the name of the Drone Record, can only be found (as far as I know) by browsing through the MENUBK.BIN file on any of the four CDs with a computer. I can't thank Seeking Wing enough for discovering this great secret.

Also in this update, there are two new theories and a new chapter of a fanfic. The fanfic update is Chapter 3 of Panzer Dragoon X that explains how a certain character is found. Geoffrey Duke has written two new theories, the first being about Panzer Dragoon Zwei's True Ending. With the recent confirmation that the Sky Rider was not Lundi some things have to be rethought and this theory does that nicely. The other theory is about Lagi's different forms and how many of them may have been prototypes of the Solo Wing. Both theories can be found in the Theories section.

The new section that I had planned for the 50th Update has been delayed, but it's still coming and should be ready in the next week or two.

49. A new review, theory, and a confirmation.
Date: 14th of February, 2003
Updated By: Solo

Solo There is a new review of the original Panzer Dragoon game, written by Neil in the Reviews section, which is written from a modern day perspective. Also, Geoffrey Duke has written a theory suggesting that the golden dragon we see in Sestren's memory orbs could have actually been the Dark Dragon. This can be read in the Theories section.

There have been a few other minor updates as well. I have added screenshots of the PC version Panzer Dragoon to various parts of the site and there is now a secrets page for Panzer Dragoon Orta containing a few hidden things that can be found in the game. Check out the various sections for their updates. If all goes as planned there will be a new section in the 50th update.

One last but very important thing: in a recent interview with Akihiko Mukaiyama, the director of Panzer Dragoon Orta, he confirmed that the Sky Rider was *not* Lundi. However this confirmation still doesn't explain just who this rider was and his identity has only become more mysterious because of this. You can read the original interview (in Spanish) by clicking here or the translated version in this thread. Thanks to Nightwalker for telling us about it!

48. Three new pictures for the fan art section.
Date: 8th of February, 2003
Updated By: Solo

Solo Two pictures from He Who Is The Sky have been added to this website. The first one is of Lagi in the same form that attacked the Imperial Capital, the Solo Wing Normal Class. The second is of a made up form of dragon, the Eo Wing (which means Dawn Wing). Neil has also drawn a picture of the heavily armoured and masked Sky Rider from the original Panzer Dragoon. All these pictures and more can be found in the Fan Art section.

47. Drones... the soulless tools of the Ancients?
Date: 5th of February, 2003
Updated By: Solo

Solo With so much evidence leading towards the rider at the start of Panzer Dragoon 1 being human I felt it was time to express another theory of mine. This theory talks about the possibility of the Sky Rider being a drone. It *Contains Orta Spoilers*, so if you haven't played the Xbox game yet I would recommend waiting until you do before reading it. The theory can be read by clicking here.

In this update I have also added some more dialogue to The Will of the Ancients. All the "About the..." conversations from Panzer Dragoon Saga are now available in the Dialogue section. Hopefully this will clear up a few questions. The conversations with Zadoc are an especially interesting read.

46. Art is the music of the eyes.
Date: 30th of January, 2003
Updated By: Solo

Solo There's not one, not two, but six new drawings in the Fan Art section with this update! The first three that I've added were done by He Who Is The Sky and are of the Dark Dragon, Sky Dart, and Dragon Pup. Neil has also drawn pictures of his fanfic character Azrael and also one of Kyle and the Blue Dragon. The last one is of Orta and the Dragon and was drawn by Psylisia Dragoon.

I've also uploaded the entire extra CD that came with my limited edition of Panzer Dragoon Orta. It's basically pieces of various music from each of the four Panzer Dragoon games mixed together. Since the CD is so rare I think this is the best way to let everyone hear them. Click on the links below to download them:

45. Three new pictures have been added to the fan art section.

Updated By: Solo

Solo There has been some nice new pieces of art added to this site. First of all is a CG picture of Orta and her dragon. It shows the two of them flying over the water towards a sunset background. Thanks to Colin for making it. The picture can be viewed by clicking here.

Also, Kevin Berryman has drawn two pictures of Azel, which he has touched up in Photoshop. Both were made to show Azel's undying love for Edge. The first is called Azel Love's Reminiscence that shows the drone looking out over the water. The second picture is Azel Recalling Destiny, showing an older Azel after many years have passed.

All fan drawn art on this site can be found in the Fan Art section.

44. TWotA gets moved to decent webspace at last.
Date: 20th of January, 2003
Updated By: Solo

Solo The Will of the Ancients has always been a free Geocities site, consisting of ads and limited bandwidth. However the site has grown past the 15 Megs that were given to me for free, and as a result I had to remove the screenshots of Panzer Dragoon Orta, which have been missed by more than one person.

No longer will this be a problem. The website has been moved to a proper payed-for-hoster, although I don't have to pay anything thanks to the kindness of Abraham from Sega Zero. The Will of the Ancients now has over twice as much webspace, more bandwidth, and no ads. What this means to you, the visitor, is that you will experience a faster and cleaner looking website ...hopefully with more Panzer Dragoon content added in the next few months.

Despite a few disadvantages such as not being able to host the Panzer Dragoon Mini ROM and a longer web address, I think everyone will benefit from the move.

43. Addition sometimes requires subtraction.

Updated By: Solo

Solo There was a broken link to the Lucich I drew. I've fixed it, so you can actually view it now. Also I've added a picture of Edge and the Arm Wing with was drawn by Atolm Rider. Both of these can be found in the Fan Art section.

Sadly, to free up webspace, I have had to remove all of the Panzer Dragoon Orta screenshots on this website. The thumbnails will remain online, but clicking the links will no longer bring up the pictures in their full resolution. Hopefully I'll be able to find some way of hosting them, but until further notice you'll have to use other sites such as LAGI - The Art of Panzer Dragoon or Die Welt von Panzer Dragoon to leech screenshots from.

42. Fanfic update and lyrics for "Anu Orta Veniya" added.
Date: 4th of January, 2003
Updated By: Solo

Solo Neil has completed the latest chapter of his fanfic, Panzer Dragoon X. The story is set in an alternative universe and is told in the form of diary entries. You can read the latest chapter by clicking here.

To the Dialogue section an addition has been made in the form of the lyrics to Anu Orta Veniya, the theme song from Panzer Dragoon Orta. The original lyrics came with the soundtrack, and the translation came from Abadd who was "involved in the Panzer Dragoon Orta project" so they should be considered official.

41. The first update of the year.
Date: 3rd of January, 2003
Updated By: Solo

Solo Well another year has gone, and another year has come. This site has grown considerably in the last year and I hope to expand it quite a bit with new content in the months to follow. 2003 will mark the return of Panzer Dragoon for most English speaking fans, unless you have already played the Japanese version, which has English subtitles on a modded PAL or NTSC-U Xbox.

My copy of Panzer Dragoon Orta arrived in the post today, but annoyingly the mod chip I ordered before the game has not turned up yet so I'll have to be satisfied listening to the four track CD, "Die Panzer Dragoons Chronik", that came with it in the meantime. I remember someone on the Excavation Camp forum quoting something like "Panzer Dragoon is not a hobby for the impatient." That is indeed very true.

I have also updated the Fan Art section with a Lucich that I have drawn. You can see it for yourself by clicking here.
