40. Panzer Dragoon Orta OST tracklist added.
Date: 27th of December, 2002
Updated By: Solo
I have yet to hear the entire new album, but the tracklist has been added to The Will of the Ancients as well as the catalog number. This should make it slightly easier to find out how to get the CD and is a good resource if you are trying to work out what the tracks are called in English. If you are planning on buying the soundtrack, I have heard that cdjapan.co.jp is a reliable site from which it can be purchased, although I've never bought any music from them myself.
You can view the tracklist by clicking here.

39. Today the dragon will return to the skies.
Date: 20th of December, 2002
Updated By: Solo
I haven't heard any details on the launch of Panzer Dragoon Orta yet but it was planned to be released in Japan on the 19th of December... which is today in most countries. It's been a while since Panzer Dragoon Saga came out in 1998, but the long wait for another game is now over. The series will be introduced to a whole new audience and we can only expect the Panzer Dragoon community to grow because of this. My thanks go to the folks at Smilebit for reviving this amazing franchise :)
Soon many of you will know the whole story of Panzer Dragoon Orta and because of this I will not be excepting any more fan fiction or other information that is about the game for this website. Reviews, of course, are most welcome so long as they don't contain any spoilers. When I have played through game myself, new sections will most likely open up on the game but all of these will contain spoiler warnings. It is only fair that those who have not had the chance to play Panzer Dragoon Orta yet have the opportunity to go through the full game as it was intended to be experienced.

38. Temporary "Excavation Camp 911" forum online.
Date: 15th of December, 2002
Updated By: Solo
If you're a regular at the forum on Die Welt von Panzer Dragoon then you probably already know that the site has been down for several days now. Since the site may be down for a while, there is a temporary hosted forum which you can visit called Excavation Camp 911 which was set up by Arc'engal along with several other message boards on his Panzer Dragoon website, The Temple of Sestren.
On a lighter note... there is only four more days until the Return of Panzer Dragoon!

37. New fan fiction and fan art.
Date: 5th of December, 2002
Updated By: Solo
In the Fan Art section you'll find a new picture of the dragon's final form and my online character, the Solo Wing dragon. You can view the drawing by clicking here. Thanks to Atolm Rider for letting me put it on The Will of the Ancients.
Also in this update, Neil has rewritten part of his Panzer Dragoon OVA review. He has also submitted the first chapter of a fanfic called Panzer Dragoon X which is about - well if you're curious have a read yourself in the Fan Fiction Section. Thanks a lot for those Neil!

36. New Panzer Dragoon Orta character details revealed.
Date: 5th of December, 2002
Source: Panzer Dragoon Orta: Official Website
Updated By: Solo
The Official Panzer Dragoon Orta website has been updated with a new design and some nice concept art. There is also some information about Orta and the Empire. From the rough Babel Fish translation it seems Orta is only 13 years old and for an unknown reason was isolated in a prison and raised there since she was a young child. When the Empire attacks, Orta manages to escape on the back of the dragon. The website also states that the new Emperors name is Yatsushiro.
I have also found out that the freaky looking drone we saw in the E3 trailer will go by the name of Abadd, which has been the screen name our friendly leak at the Excavation Camp for several months now! Thanks to Ryu for this information which was taken from the Gaming-Age forums.
After this update I am going to try and avoid posting anything that could even remotely be classed as a spoiler on this website. As the Japanese release of Panzer Dragoon Orta approaches more and more will be revealed about the story so I'd like to keep this place spoiler free for as long as possible. I'll update with more info on how I will manage these spoilers soon.

35. Another Drone's Dream chapter and some new Orta features revealed.
Date: 24th of November, 2002
Updated By: Solo
The third chapter of Geoffrey Duke's piece of fan fiction, A Drone's Dream is now online. Being a fan of Drones myself, I am finding this an interesting read and I would recommend any Saga fan to check it out. The first two chapters have also been edited in a few subtle ways, such as extra descriptions here and there. All three chapters can be found in the Fan Fiction section.
If you go to http://sega.jp/x/pdo you will see that there are two new modes mentioned for Panzer Dragoon Orta. The first is 'Scenarios' and the second one 'Mission'. What I find exciting is the picture to the right that shows a Baldor on the screen, but no dragon. Could this be mean that Morbo is a playable character? I'm sure we'll find out soon enough but until then it is certainly something to look forward to. Who would have thought when first playing Panzer Dragoon Saga back in 1998 that one day we would actually be able to play as one of those fearsome beasts?

34. The secrets of the Ancients have been recorded.
Date: 22nd of November, 2002
Updated By: Solo
The Ancient Age has always been shouded in mystery, however there is a small amount of knowledge which can be picked up in the games, especially in Panzer Dragoon Saga. Geoffrey Duke has compiled the logs left behind by the people who worked on the Light Wing project. There are some interesting facts that create many possibilities. To read the records click here.

33. The fan fiction section reaches a total of eight.
Date: 21st of November, 2002
Updated By: Solo
Over the past six months there has been a number of new fanfics on this site and this latest one especially has me eager to read the third chapter (which I am told by the author is nearly ready). The story is called A Drone's Dream and is about drones (obviously). From what we know about Azel, it is almost certain that drones think differently than normal human beings and Geoffrey Duke has explored this idea further in his story which is told from the perspective of several drones.

32. A new Panzer Dragoon IRC channel is online.
Date: 18th of November, 2002
Updated By: Solo
There has been Panzer Dragoon chat rooms before, but they have never lasted. However that should change now that an IRC channel has been set up for the online Panzer Dragoon community at Die Welt von Panzer Dragoon. The popularity of the website's forum combined with the near release of Panzer Dragoon Orta gives it the head start it needs to be a success. To access the channel you will need an IRC client such as mIRC as there is no Java chat yet. Below are the details needed to access the channel:
Server Name: FreeChat-Network.de
Channel: #panzerdragoon
Ports: 6667, 6668, 6669, or 7000
You'll need to register yourself a nickname if you're planning on joining. For more on that check out this thread on the forum. Many thanks to Lord Craymen and Senor Kaffee for setting this up on behalf of the Panzer Dragoon community.

31. What we already knew and a little bit more.
Date: 18th of November, 2002
Source: GameSpot
Updated By: Solo
Sega of Japan has released some information on features that will be available in Panzer Dragoon Orta. Most of this we already know, such as the original Panzer Dragoon being included in the package, but there is also some new information. The game will feature a films section where players can view some of the full motion videos (hopefully uncompressed this time!) from the Saturn titles. There will be an option to play through some of the game levels as different characters too.
